Kintsugi came from the Japanese philosophy of embracing imperfection. It treats the breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to be hidden. As a result, something more unique and beautiful is created.ย

Some practitioners of kintsugi completely cover the seam with mending material, however, we attempt to preserve the authenticity of each break by allowing it to stay visible after repair. We feel this adds to the beauty and meaning of the finished item.
